Thank you, Susan. I think you speak for all of us. I'm grateful for what feels today like extraordinary privilege: the opportunity and ability to sit here in front of this screen and watch the words flow out of my fingers and into a universe where they'll be read by who-knows-who. How utterly amazing it is, to live in a world that permits and enables THIS. And how especially poignant against the reality of two ugly wars.
Poignant, yes, but I believe our stories are necessary antidotes to those wars and all the ugliness that is around us. We and our words add to the ocean of light and love, which will always (if not easily) flow over the ocean of darkness and fear. Thank you for offering your stories to us all!
I was thinking the same this morning..the dogs and I were walking along the plains cottonwoods in the draw (loved what you wrote about the names of places...no coulees up here!), and I looked up to see a bald eagle on a branch. Later we spooked up a small group of Hungarian partridge. Having just learned of a dear relative being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, I sent out a prayer for her coming life changes, and one of gratitude for my own 6 year remission of ovarian cancer. It is a wonder every day to breathe the air, walk on my own legs, feel my connection to the earth and sky. Thank you for expressing that so eloquently.
And I am so glad you are here with us to love those bald eagles and plains cottonwoods and Huns, and to walk with your dogs (and tend your sheep). Blessings to you there in the home of my heart. :)
I was so grateful to walk in the sunshine this morning, especially after a couple weeks of feeling unwell and a lot of gray days. I’ve been singing the qigong “healing sounds” to my body each morning and thanking it for all it does as a practice of nourishing and nurturing. It is such a privilege to have these opportunities and then to share it in the ways I can with others.
I'm sorry that you've not been feeling well and that you're had a string of gray days. Hallelujah for feeing better and being able to walk in sunshine! I'm intrigued by the idea of singing qigong healing sounds to your body. Will you write about that sometime? I'd love to learn more.... Blessings!
I am grateful to have you in my life, dear Susan. Because you are you and you write from the heart, from your soul, virtually every day. Thank you for that. XOXOXOXOX

Your poetic grace starts my day with a grateful smile. Thank you.

I will find a way to write about it! I learned them through Lee Holden Qigong. This is the link if you want to learn more. https://secure.holdenqigong.com/healing-sounds/
When I first started Qi Gong, I think I discounted the healing sounds a little bit. After I’ve been practicing a while, I realize they were just the most lovely way to sing a Love Song to my body annd they made me feel better. Especially true if you couple it with the innersmile meditation. Thank you! I'll listen to both this afternoon. Blessings!

Thank you, dear Liz! I am grateful that we met 12 years ago at that Women Writing the West conference in Albuquerque. xoxo
