My calling has to do with building community with others who are seeking to listen to the voice of the spirit and act out its life-giving offers in ways that bring concrete hope and help to the hurting world. Now that I am homebound mostly, I live out that calling by writing small poems and sharing them on social media, inviting others into the conversation.

Kathryn, I think that is a beautiful way to help build community and to bring active hope and help to the hurting world! I wonder if you would ever consider hosting live conversations or gatherings via Zoom or FB live or the like. That might be a way to virtually gather the flock you are building on social media in a way that would deepen and/or extend your work. Many blessings to you!

That’s a good idea. Right now my energy is unpredictable enough that scheduling and organizing something like that produces a lot of stress. But I’m going to think about it.

Maybe doing it live is too much right now. Another way to add to the gift you are already giving would be to now and again record your posts as live messages--whenever you are feeling good and it feels right. You could just read one of your poems and say a few words about it, share it and invite comments just as you do with any other post. That would bring your literal voice into the conversation, and I suspect your community would respond positively to that.

Dear dear Susan, This piece touched me deeply. Thank you. I've signed on for the full subscription and gifted one to my neighbor, Rie Luft. I just sent Rie a note letting her know, but would you be so kind as to make sure she receives this latest one: "Finding our voices...?" I specifically want Rie to see this one. She lost her husband after moving to this community where we both live, and now she is especially supportive of me as I struggle to keep my head above water being a caregiver. Thank you!

Dear Susie! Thank you for your generous support and for gifting a subscription to Rie. I will email her with today's essay so it reaches her directly. I am so glad you have her as a neighbor and while I am deeply sorry she has personal experience with the kind of caregiving you are struggling with, it sounds like her support is one of the blessings you need. I am sending love and strength your way. xo

Susan, so beautiful. You describe my experience of the last 6 years particularly and really the last 25 as I have come to learn to listen to my true divine voice, the voice of who I am. It is that voice that guides me in the outer work I do for this amazing planet and all its inhabitants. The book and workshops are slowly emerging and I’ve come to accept and understand the process. I do struggle at times to listen as I get distracted and sidetracked in the busyness of days and dramas that emerge. I have though in the last year become more adept at catching these and getting back into alignment with my purpose and the joy of being present in life’s activities. What a journey life is and I am forever grateful to have discovered my voice. Thank you for your beautiful writing and putting beautiful words to thoughts and experiences I have. I’m loving this subscription. Xxxxoooo

I am forever grateful that graduate school connected us! And that you have found your voice and are using your knowledge to re-story economics. I look forward to hearing more about how the book and workshops are coming as you are ready to talk about them. And thank you for the compliment and support. Blessings and a hug.

Thank you Susan🤗I will look at your books and let you know—you are right, I already do have several. I gratefully accept your suggestion of the chapbook sized book about Colorado, but especially “place” and how our love and relationship to PLACE and HOME is integral to who we are.
